Do you have times when you just know that God is speaking to you? When a lot is going on and business takes over, it’s easy to lose sight of priorities – especially God. During these past few weeks, I have been in such a place, supplanting my daily time with God with other activities. I am certain, God has been trying to break through. This topic has shown up everywhere, in the church sermon, in a book I am reading, in my bible reading and even in the conversations I have been having. Pride. When it shows up and is nurtured it blossoms into self-reliance replacing our need for God. We rationalize that when we get through it all, we’ll get back on track.
In Of Pride and Humility, I speak to the issue and how pride, part of our being, is at the root of sin in our lives. Not all pride is bad, however. Like good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. If you should boast, boast in Christ as the apostle Paul said. I invite you to take a journey with me into a discussion of pride in life, how Jesus was free from it, and how He is the example we are to follow. Actually, in all of the testimonies we have posted during season 2, this is a common thread. Everybody has had something to say about this topic and their human struggle with it. Sometimes we don’t even realize it is there but beware, it is and it is pervasive. Have a listen and please share your comments.
